On the 31st March 2012 the Drugs Prevention, Education & Awareness Project will close. As many colleagues will know, DPEAP have been delivering drug and alcohol education for many years via various different initiatives including Peer Education, Parents' Evenings, PSHE lessons and drama performances in schools and professional training and community education outside of schools. As future funding is now not available for this work the charity is sadly in the process of winding-up.
The trustees and staff of DPEAP would like to take this opportunity to thank all the colleagues and organisations that they have worked with over the years. Although DPEAP are closing the Buckinghamshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team have commissioned the DPEAP Project Manager to write a package of Substance Misuse Teacher Training E-learning (for Primary, Key Stage 3 & 4 and Special Needs teachers) . This is designed to contain the information that a teacher who is new to delivering drug & alcohol education would need. This has been successfully piloted with a small group of teachers. The package will be rolled out to schools in due course - in the meantime if any teachers are interested in more details of the e-learning please contact Janet Record by email - janet.record@btopenworld.com in order to be put on the mailing list.
Any future enquiries regarding drug & alcohol services should be directed to the Buckinghamshire DAAT www.bucksdaat.co.uk
